At the recent Franchise Advisory Board meeting held on October 6th, 2023, in Manchester, we showcased our commitment to constant improvement. We'd like to extend our heartfelt gratitude to all the board members who dedicated their valuable time to join us in shaping the future of our franchise. The meeting was a resounding success, setting the stage for even greater achievements ahead.

Engaging our network to collaborate on business development initiatives

The Franchise Advisory Board (FAB) plays a pivotal role in propelling The Wheel Specialist forward. This meeting took a collaborative discussion and feedback format, with the aim of agreeing on improvements to our business model.

These are some of the areas we touched on:

Technical Advancements

Our commitment to delivering top-notch services led technical discussions around several key topics:

  • Changes in our finish offering where we are focusing on improving the efficiency in supply chain as well as a development which could significantly reduce processing time.

  • Two new pieces of equipment which aims to improve cost efficiency and deliver a more efficient refurbishment process.

  • Another new bit of equipment which can be used as an alternative to a key part of our process.

Boosting Retail Sales

The Wheel Specialist is not only about innovation but also customer convenience with the aim of driving retail sales for our franchisees.

There was lengthy discussion around:

  • Implementing a new network wide booking system which has customer convenience front of mind

  • A new service which also allows a massive boost in convenience for the customer as well as increasing revenue and capacity at each Wheel Specialist site.

  • Advances in SMS follow up

  • A progress report on our development work with “official” premium brand car clubs

Increasing corporate and B2B work streams

As well as pushing retail sales we are also on a trade development drive, we touched on the following:

  • An update on our progress forging partnerships with franchised automotive retail, repairer, and warranty providers.

  • Convenience services offered to trade customers.

Marketing Initiatives

Our final segment of the day was spent discussing and agreeing on marketing initiatives, these included:

  • Agreeing a new tactical campaign which will be implemented nationwide for Q4

  • A brand workshop, which took place recently where we invited board members to join the head office team in refining the presentation of our brand to deliver greater marketing efficiency

  • Progress on our social media & influencer campaign
